Wings for Animals has been in close contact with The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust since our inception. For a long time already we have been taking pantyhoses from colleagues to the SWT.
With these pantyhose, the caretakers at SWT’s shelter tie blankets around the bellies of the orphaned elephants.
They need the blankets to protect themselves from sun and cold, unfortunately they no longer have a mother. Since rope does rub their bellies and tights do not, this is a nice and inexpensive solution!
When we personally deliver the pantyhoses, we meet many of the rescued orphan elephants, such as Sirimon, Mukutan and Enkesha.
